2. Berries- Most people are aware that cranberry juice is helpful in preventing UTIs. In addition, blueberries are also proven to benefit people who suffer from this bladder inconvenience. Lower the risk of developing UTIs by regularly eating blueberries and drinking natural cranberry juice.

3. Pineapple- Pineapple contains Bromelain, an enzyme that is known to assist antibiotics in ridding the body of a lingering UTI. Consuming pineapple as part of a balanced diet, and in moderation, may prevent future infections.

How to Prevent UTIs

Nobody wants to experience painful, frequent urination. Becoming aware of the two normal functions listed below, UTIs are more likely to decrease in number and severity.

1. Consume Water- Drinking 64 ounces of water every day is recommended for all adults. This encourages a constant flushing of bodily organs and keeps the body’s water supply flowing. Taking in this amount of water may prevent UTIs if done daily. In addition, drinking more water than recommended may help rid the body of a UTI.

2. Urinate Regularly- A person who tends to hold his or her bladder for one reason or another is more prone to getting UTIs. Urination rids the body of toxic bacteria. Resisting the urge to go to the bathroom can cause a build up of bacteria in the urethra and lead to infection.

These natural alternatives to UTI prevention are helpful, but do not replace prescription antibiotics. Urinary tracts infections can become dangerous when not taken care of quickly. Natural solutions are best used for easing discomfort of UTI symptoms. Incorporating these practices leads to healthy habits; in time, pain might lessen and long-term effects may result.
