Disability Benefits for a Person Suffering From ALS

ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis as per its full form, is a type of motor neuron disease, At times called Maladie de Charcot, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a neurodegenerative disease that progresses as a result of the continued degradation of motor neutrons (i.e. the nerve cells in the central nervous system that are responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement) such that this condition is recognized by medical practitioners as one which is fatal in nature.

Known also by the name Lou Gehrig’s disease in North America (after the New York Yankees famed icon who died as a result of this condition in 1941), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis generally spares cognitive functions except when the advent of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is accompanied by frontotemporal dementia. Among the most famous people living with this condition today are the renowned physicist, Stephen Hawking, the British historian, Tony Judt, and the guitar legend, Jeff Becker.

Given that Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis severs a persons ability to move his or her muscles, this medical condition usually has devastating impacts on a person’s normal functioning. While government approved medications as well as experimental drugs are available to reduce the symptoms of this condition and slow down the pace of motor neutron degradation, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis does not really have a cure which is able to completely reverse the condition towards the better.

It is for this reason that people with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis might begin to think of themselves as doomed. If you suffer from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, it is imperative that you do not fall victim to this mindset. While there is no denying that your life will be altered after the diagnosis of this disease, it is nonetheless imperative that you exhibit the will power to lead as normal a life as possible.

To make things easier for you, the Canadian government provides a wide variety of disability benefits. These benefits are tailor-made for people with disabilities and they therefore aim to ensure that people with disabilities are able to enjoy a standard of living which is pretty much similar to that of people without disabilities.

Alas the fact of the matter remains that many people who could avail these disability benefits shy away from their due right because they find the process of getting the benefits being too tiresome or too hard. It is for this reason that we urge you to come to us at the National Benefit Authority (NBA) as we are committed to making your job a whole lot easier. Backed by a 99 person success ratio and a plethora of client testimonials, we at the NBA have made it our duty to ensure that you - and everybody else who is faced with a disability - get the respective share of deserved money from the Canadian government. Our staff is always happy to answer any questions you have. Therefore, do justice to yourself and make the effort of coming to us today, after all this effort will be surely worthwhile.
