What is ADHD Combined Type?

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurological development disorder. As its name suggests, ADHD combined type is characterized by the coexistence of attention problems as well as hyperactivity. While the symptoms of ADHD may appear innocent at first and can be written off as just annoying or irritating, it is imperative that this condition be treated. If however treatment is not sought, ADHD can greatly hamper a person’s ability to learn, work, and establish proper relationships with others around him or her.

ADHD primarily has three subtypes one of which is known as the ADHD combined type. ADHD combined type is possibly the most severe form of ADHD (and possibly the most difficult to treat) as it is characterized by the presence of six or more symptoms of ADHD. That said, unfortunately ADHD combined type remains the most common form of ADHD among both children and adults.

Given its frequent occurrence as well as its severity, ADHD combined type is known to do the most damage to the victim’s life. Research shows that children suffering from ADHD combined type exhibit higher rates of conduct disorder. Worse still, these victims are also more likely to simultaneously suffer from another terrible psychiatric disorder known as bipolar disorder.

Hence, parents who have a child suffering ADHD combined type need to be extra vigilant as they not only have to look out for symptoms of ADHD, but also symptoms of other psychiatric disorders. Thus, it is highly advised that a medical professional be consulted from the get go as he or she will be in the best position to minimize the victim’s problems.

Meanwhile, you could look towards the government for support as well. You would be happy to hear that the Canadian government provides a wide variety of disability benefits for persons suffering from ADHD combined type as well as any other major physical or mental disabilities. The government realizes that having a disability is taxing both emotionally as well as financially. Therefore, the disability benefits it hands out are designed to uplift the living standards of people suffering from disabilities such that being disabled does not result in the disabled person disappearing into oblivion.

Alas, the massive amounts of cumbersome work required to avail these much needed benefits acts as a deterrent to getting the said benefits. Realizing this phenomenon, we decided to form the National Benefit Authority (NBA) with the hopes of making your life a whole lot easier. We thus provide expert counsel on a host of issues pertaining to disability benefits so that you get information tailored to your particular condition and case. To further encourage you to take the right step, we offer a free consultation so that new comers see for themselves that we provide only the highest quality of work.
